The idea hit me suddenly. Vending isn’t new, it’s something that’s been around for as long as I’ve been alive and beyond. We’ve all used them but not everyone thinks beyond that. No one thinks about who stocks the machines, who places them, and who fixes them when they’re down.
I knew the grind of doordash was valuable. It was logistics. What I do for them I could do for myself and others. Initially I thought I’d have a delivery service of my own or something And one day I had a DoorDash pickup from a BJs, it seemed like I was stocking a vending machine or something, 6 cases of water, several cases of soda, chips, sweets. I was sure it was going into a vending machine but it ended up at a barber shop cooler for the employees. But the seed was planted. I started getting flooded with Vending content on YouTube and I started to learn the industry. Sales, transportation, mechanical service, customer service.
I graduated from Upper Merion Area School District, went to Montgomery county community college and transferred to Temple University and got my Bachelor’s in History and although my education was priceless, the job market wasn’t fruitful. Relegated to DoorDash I got tired of waiting for an organization to give me a salary and benefits. I gave up on that idea after so many second and third rounds of interviews. But I didn’t give up on myself.
